Este trabalho examina os dispositivos linguísticos por meio dos quais Ésquilo conseguiu apresentar as personagens femininas da Oresteia. A análise é feita após um levantamento das seções recitativas de três tragédias; características fonéticas, morfológicas e sintáticas foram estudadas e comparadas com a linguagem dos personagens masculinos. Os resultados desta pesquisa se ajustam a outras tentativas precedentes de mostrar como a sociolinguística pode explicar o retrato formal dos personagens trágicos e cômicos. En este artículo se hace un estudio de las formas de tratamiento utilizadas, tanto por el entrevistador como por los informantes, en el corpus PRESEEA-Valencia. Dicho estudio incluye un análisis cuantitativo, en el que se da cuenta de los resultados atendiendo al nivel sociocultural, el sexo, la edad y la lengua habitual de los informantes, y un estudio cualitativo, centrado en las motivaciones que llevan al interlocutor a utilizar una u otra forma de tratamiento. espanolEn este trabajo se realiza un estudio estadistico sobre el uso de las formas de tratamiento en Valencia y su area metropolitana. Tras una breve introduccion teorica sobre el tema y la explicacion de la metodologia utilizada, ofrecemos los resultados en terminos porcentuales. Pero, al tratarse de un fenomeno en el que intervienen multiples factores al mismo tiempo, hemos realizado tambien un analisis de regresion, que permite ver los resultados cuando todos los factores actuan de manera simultanea. Our paper aims at reflecting upon the mediation role that linguistics could play concerning the relationship between language policies and concrete speakers’ discourse practices. The paper is divided into two parts. The first one focuses on the concept of «identity» within Linguistics throughout 20th century. The second part deals with some possible models which may be employed in order to represent the construction of speakers’ identity as it may be observed within the interviews of the Linguistic Atlas of Sicily (ALS).
Community and space in Italian sociolinguistics: The experience of the Linguistic Atlas of Sicily (Atlante Linguistico della Sicilia -- ALS)

The paper focuses on the notions of ‘space’ and ‘community’ within the most recent developments of Italian sociolinguistics. This research area has roots in the tradition of Italian geolinguistic studies and has been enhanced by other research traditions. In fact, Italian sociolinguistics has reused the relationship between ‘community’ and ‘space’ investigated in the early twentieth century by Benvenuto Terracini’s (1886–1968) seminal studies on ‘minimal linguistic point’ (‘punto linguistico minimo’) and on ‘community of speakers’.
